About Champagne Brimoncourt
When I met Champagne Brimoncourt Australian Brand Ambassador, François Crémière, a little while ago he offered me a tasting of the full range.
While we were tasting he gave me some inside info about the house and ALL its champagnes which you can read over here on my blog.
I asked François what he thought of the Brut Rosé… and he said he had to stop feeding himself with only this rosé & cheese every day!
Champagne Brimoncourt Brut Rosé
Brimoncourt’s tasting notes for the Champagne Brimoncourt Brut Rosé
Because who could know the wine better than them!
Nose… The nose is subtle and discreet with citrus and bergamot notes then opens on melon and raspberry notes.
Mouth… The palate is fresh, creamy with fruity aromas (rose, honey and cinnamon).
Food pairing
The Brut Rosé is a delicate wine, perfect for an aperitif but also with cheese such as chaource, brie, salers. For dessert, it will compliment a wild strawberry feuillantine or raspberry macaroons to perfection.
My verdict
In a word (my word)… Sensual and juicy (I know – that’s two words!)
My moment or mood… It is a bolder attack on the senses than I was expecting (and than the Brimoncourt notes suggested) which I would pop with a cheese and charcuterie platter on a self-indulgent Saturday night in. The rosé is not the Brimoncourt showstopper and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some changes to its blend down the track.
François did hint at a vintage release from Brimoncourt in the not-too-distant future and I am very keen to see that!
The tech stuff for the champagne nerds…
Blend – 35% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier with 17% blended still red wine according to François.
Dosage 8g/l
Time on lees 4 years
Where to buy it
You can buy the Champagne Brimoncourt Brut Rosé from Emperor Champagne online for $89.99.
