Hi, I’m Marnie Nichols, self-appointed Chief Champagne Fan, Champagne Coach and Writer at Bubble and Flute. You’ve probably worked out by now that I love champagne… but you don’t know much else. So I thought I’d tell you a little bit more about me.

I was born in 1975, the adorable only daughter (and I suspect favourite child ) of doting parents.

JUST KIDDING! I’m not going to bore you with my whole life story. We’ll fast-forward through my Princess Diana and George Michael obsessions, my high-school study-nerd phase, and European backpacking, to when I started to become a grown-up champagne fan.

The most succinct way to describe me is I am… annoyingly positive, endlessly energetic, and hopelessly devoted to champagne, coffee, and my dog, Duke. I am as passionate about health and fitness as I am about champagne and I get up very early to do crazy things for fitness (I am a morning person… I’m bright and bubbly at 5am!).

I’m not French and (sadly!) I don’t live anywhere near Champagne. I’m an Aussie and I live in sunny, warm Queensland between Brisbane (during the week for work) and Burleigh on the Gold Coast (on the weekends with my man). The Gold Coast is pretty gorgeous – it is lined by some of the best beaches on the east and stunning rainforest hinterland to the west.

But we Aussies punch above our weight for champagne consumption! Australia is actually the 7th largest export market for champagne in the world and the 5th largest based on population. Not bad for a population of just 25 million!

Bubbles and Fit… and the Duke of Champagne

For my “day job”, I work in marketing, as Director of Marketing & Sales for Opera Queensland, which I love. I’m also a qualified personal trainer. But between work, Bubble & Flute, and my own fitness training I don’t have much spare time or energy to work as a fitness trainer anymore. I do still coach a small group once a week, just for fun. (Although I don’t think they call it fun haha!).

You will see a bit of fitness stuff from me… on my socials, in my emails, here on my blog and from my online shop!

And last but not least, my other mad love is my border collie, Duke. His full pedigree registered name is ‘Duke of Champagne’ and he is just so cute, energetic, cuddly, funny, and very accustomed to the sound of mummy popping champagne corks.

When I’m not working, or working out, or walking Dukey, or drinking champagne, or working on Bubble & Flute… I’m probably sleeping!!
